Thame is an interesting town, with a rich architectural and agricultural heritage still very much in evidence. Probably its best-known historical figure is John Hampden, who was educated just round the corner, and died here after the Battle of Chalgrove..

The town is renowned locally for the astonishing number of pubs and eating houses, and you'll find all the usual shops and amenities (including post office and library) within walking distance of the house. Market day is Tuesday. Parking is FREE.
Numerous community events are held throughout the year, including the well- respected Thame Show every September, and Thame provides the perfect base for wider explorations. Regular buses run from the High Street to Aylesbury, Oxford and outlying villages, and there's an excellent rail link from Thame & Haddenham Parkway direct to London, Marylebone (5 miles)
